Effective Date: May 2026. Your privacy and trust are our top priorities. Here is a transparent breakdown of how we handle your student usage data.
1. Ranks Leaderboard Metrics & Privacy Masking
When you check results, SBTET Connect parses academic grades to compute aggregate ranks. To celebrate student achievements while strictly safeguarding individual student privacy under DPDP standards:
- Public Display Masking: Full PINs are masked on public leaderboards (e.g.
23001-EC-XXX) and student names are pseudonomized (e.g.M••••D A•••Z) to prevent unauthorized snooping of full marksheets. - Stored Metrics: Batch, Branch, College Code, and calculated aggregate CGPA.
- Zero Private Contact Storage: We never collect or store your phone numbers, residential addresses, or personal contact details.
Privacy Control: If you wish to have your student ranking completely unlisted or further anonymized from the public leaderboard, you can request instant unlisting at any time by emailing our Grievance Officer at support@sbtetconnect.app.
2. Student Accounts & Authentication
When you create an account or sign in using Google or Email, we store your email address and display name securely using Google Firebase Authentication. This is used solely to:
- Sync your saved preferences and custom appearance settings.
- Enable direct, authenticated communication for support tickets and admin assistance.
- Send essential one-time verification or password reset security codes to your email. We never send spam or promotional solicitations.
3. Push Notification Tokens
If you opt-in to alerts, the app requests a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push token. This token is used strictly to ping your device when announcements or results go live.
4. Admissions Navigators & Predictors (100% Private)
Our TGECET and TGPOLYCET helper tools use publicly available historical counseling seat allotment data to display cutoff ranges. When you enter your entrance rank, caste category, region, or gender to search college admission chances:
- The prediction calculations are processed entirely client-side inside your own web browser.
- We do not record, log, or track your entrance ranks, search queries, or preferred college selections on our servers.

All data transmission is encrypted over secure HTTPS protocols. Leaderboard records are stored in a secure Google Cloud Firestore database. We enforce rules that strictly allow read-only lookups for leaderboard ranks and block malicious payloads.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to marketing agencies or data brokers. We use Google AdSense to display advertisements, which may use cookies to personalise ads based on your browsing activity.
SBTET Connect integrates standard cloud services to run the student companion portal:
- Cloudflare & AWS Infrastructure: Secure edge CDN distribution and high-performance serverless APIs.
- Google Firebase: Secure authentication tokens and push notification distribution.
- Google Analytics: Privacy-compliant aggregate telemetry to measure site uptime, latency, and general application performance.
- Google AdSense: We may display advertisements served by Google AdSense across the website. When advertising is enabled, Google and third-party vendors use cookies and unique device identifiers to serve relevant ads based on prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google Ad Settings or via aboutads.info.
- Google AdMob: Our Android mobile app may display advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob uses device advertising identifiers (GAID) to present relevant ads. You can opt out by enabling "Opt out of Ads Personalisation" in your Android device settings.
Cookie Policy
We use cookies and similar technologies for service functionality, anonymous traffic analytics, and advertising delivery. Google and third-party advertising partners may collect pseudonymous identifiers, IP addresses, browser parameters, and usage data as governed by Google's Privacy & Terms. You can configure, block, or purge cookies through your web browser's privacy settings at any time.
You have full control over your telemetry. You can easily:
- Toggle push notification preferences inside your browser or device permissions.
- Clear application local storage inside your browser or app settings to purge cached results. We use local storage purely to keep your student PIN saved on your device and cache attendance/grade responses for faster offline loads; we do not store sensitive private security credentials.
- Request removal of your student ranking or details from the public leaderboard by emailing support@sbtetconnect.app.
SBTET Connect fully respects your right to be forgotten. If you created an account (via Google Sign-In or Email) or have stored preferences, you can request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
What Data is Deleted:
- Your user account profile (Display Name, Email Address, and Authentication UID).
- All saved preferences, bookmarks, and local device sync states.
- Leaderboard entries, attendance query logs, and submitted support feedback tickets linked to your account.
How to Request Deletion:
To request immediate account and data deletion, simply send an email from your registered email address to:
Upon receiving your request, our team will permanently delete your authentication record and all associated database entries within 24 to 48 hours. You will receive a confirmation email once the process is complete.
