SBTET 6-Month Industrial Training Rules, Daily Logbook & Viva Evaluation
Industrial Training is an integral practical cornerstone of polytechnic diploma education, immersing final-year diploma students into real-world industrial environments for 6 continuous months.
The 6-month industrial training program bridges classroom theoretical concepts with practical manufacturing, software development, infrastructure construction, and power transmission workflows.
Students secure training placements in state PSUs (BHEL, TS Genco, TS Transco, TSRTC, Singareni Collieries, DRDO), multinational corporations, or approved private sector enterprises.
Every trainee must maintain an official SBTET Daily Training Diary / Logbook detailing tasks executed, machinery operated, software tools utilized, and safety protocols observed.
The logbook must be signed weekly by the industrial mentor/supervisor and inspected periodically by the institutional training coordinator.
Evaluation comprises: (a) Continuous assessment by the industrial mentor (internal marks), (b) Institutional seminar presentation and training report submission, and (c) Final Board Viva-Voce conducted by external examiners appointed by SBTET.
Securing passing marks in industrial training is mandatory to receive the State Diploma Certificate.
