Verified against official Telangana SBTET Curricula & Gazettes

“Clearing TG ECET is only the first step. The actual B.Tech lateral entry seat is secured through centralized web counselling conducted by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). This guide walks you through every phase — from online registration to physically joining your allotted college.”

1Phase 1: Online Registration & Fee Payment

After TG ECET results are declared, qualified candidates must register for counselling on the official portal (tgeapcet.nic.in) within the announced schedule window.

Registration requires your ECET rank card details, Aadhaar number, mobile number, and a valid email address. A non-refundable counselling processing fee (typically ₹600 for general, lower for reserved categories) must be paid online.

Incomplete registrations or failed fee payments will make candidates ineligible for seat allotment. Always screenshot your payment confirmation.

2Phase 2: Document Verification

Document verification is the crucial step where your eligibility is formally confirmed. TSCHE typically allows online document upload for most candidates, with designated Help Line Centres (HLCs) for in-person verification if required.

Mandatory documents: TG ECET Rank Card, SSC (10th class) Marks Memo, Diploma Consolidated Marks Memo, Study Certificates (Class 4 to Diploma), Integrated Caste Certificate (BC/SC/ST candidates), Income Certificate, Transfer Certificate, and Aadhaar card.

Only verified candidates receive activation for the web options exercise. Verification status is visible in your candidate portal login.

3Phase 3: Exercising Web Options

Web options is where you choose your preferred college-branch combinations in priority order. Login to your candidate portal and add as many valid combinations as possible — typically there is no limit.

Ordering strategy: Place your absolute dream college and branch at Rank 1. Add realistic alternatives in descending preference. Add 10–15 safety combinations at the bottom to ensure you receive some allotment.

CRITICAL: Lock your web options before the deadline. Unlocked options are not considered for allotment. Once locked, you cannot edit options. Double-check everything before locking.

4Phase 4: Seat Allotment & Provisional Admission

Allotment is based on your ECET rank, category (OC/BC/SC/ST/EWS), and the priority order of your web options. Allotment results are published on the portal.

If allotted, download your provisional allotment letter immediately. Pay the required tuition fee online within the deadline (zero fee if ePASS-eligible). Failure to pay within the deadline forfeits your allotted seat.

Report to your allotted college with all original documents (including the printed allotment letter) before the joining deadline. The college will issue a bonafide certificate confirming your admission.

5Sliding & Final Phase Counselling

TSCHE conducts multiple counselling phases (Phase 1, Phase 2, Sliding, and Final). Candidates allotted in Phase 1 can participate in Phase 2/Sliding rounds to get a better college or branch.

To participate in a subsequent round, you must surrender your current allotment. If you do not get a better seat in the next round, your previous seat may not be restored — weigh this risk carefully.

After the final phase, remaining vacant seats may be filled through Spot Admissions at the college level under TSCHE monitoring.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1.What if I miss the web options deadline?

The web options deadline is firm and non-extendable. Candidates who do not lock options by the deadline will not receive any seat allotment in that phase. You may still participate in subsequent phases if you registered on time.

Q2.Can I join with a provisional diploma result if my final memos are not yet issued?

Yes, provisional admission is possible with a bonafide certificate from your diploma college confirming you have cleared all subjects. Original consolidated memos must be submitted to the B.Tech college before the end of your first semester.
