“After every semester-end examination, SBTET Telangana publishes detailed results on the official portal. Understanding how to read your result — what each column means, what your grade points imply, and what to do if you spot an error — is essential for every diploma student.”

1When & Where SBTET Results Are Published

SBTET semester results are published on the official board portal (sbtet.telangana.gov.in) typically within 30–45 days after the Semester End Examination concludes.

Results are also accessible directly through SBTET Connect's Results section using your Hall Ticket Number or 10-digit student PIN — no navigation delays or portal timeouts.

Result SMS alerts are sent to the registered mobile number on record with your college. Ensure your college has your correct mobile number in the student database.

2Reading Your Result: What Each Column Means

Subject Code: The board-assigned unique code for each theory or lab subject (e.g., CS-201, EC-302).

CIE Marks: Continuous Internal Evaluation marks awarded by your college based on unit tests, assignments, and lab performance. These are submitted to the board by your institution.

SEE Marks: Semester End Examination marks from the centrally conducted board exam. You need at least 35% in SEE to qualify for a passing grade in theory subjects.

Grade Points: Derived from your combined CIE + SEE total percentage. Ranges from 0 (F/Fail) to 10 (O/Outstanding). SGPA is calculated from your subject-wise grade points.

3SBTET Grade System: O to F Explained

O (Outstanding): 90–100% marks = 10 Grade Points

A+ (Excellent): 80–89% = 9 GP | A (Very Good): 70–79% = 8 GP | B+ (Good): 60–69% = 7 GP

B (Above Average): 50–59% = 6 GP | C (Average): 40–49% = 5 GP

P (Minimum Pass): 35–39% = 4 GP | F (Fail / Backlog): Below 35% = 0 GP

4Getting Your Official Marks Memo

Semester marks memos (individual sem-wise documents) are downloadable from the official portal after the results are approved and digitally signed by the board.

The Consolidated Marks Memo — showing all 6 semesters combined — is issued after your final semester (6th sem) results are published. This is the primary document needed for employment, ECET applications, and government job notifications.

For certified hardcopy memos, visit your polytechnic college examination section — they maintain signed and stamped memo copies for all enrolled students.

5What to Do If You Find an Error in Your Result

First, identify whether the discrepancy is in CIE (internal marks) or SEE (board exam marks). CIE errors must be rectified by your college by submitting a correction request to SBTET before the board freezes internal marks.

If you believe your SEE marks are incorrect, apply for revaluation or recounting within the prescribed window (typically 7–10 days after results). The revaluation process can correct evaluation errors or summation mistakes.

Contact your college examination coordinator first — they have direct communication channels with SBTET's examination cell and can expedite corrections.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1.How long does the F grade remain on my marks memo?

An F grade remains against a subject until you clear it in a supplementary exam. Once cleared, the updated grade is recorded, but the subject will show the session in which it was cleared on semester memos.

Q2.Is a digital SBTET result valid for employment applications?

A printed result from the official SBTET portal is accepted for many purposes, but original consolidated memos with college/board stamp and signature are preferred for government job document verification rounds.
